Christina + Frank ~ Newport Beach

Nautical weddings. This wedding marks a first for me. It was the first wedding I’ve shot on a yacht. The ceremony and reception took place on the Majestic in Newport Harbor on Black Friday. While my wife was waking up early to hit all the sales at the mall, I was getting up early to drive down to the ocean and partake in a beautiful wedding. The weather was fantastic, especially for it being the end of November.

The bride and bridesmaids got ready at the Hyatt in Newport, while the groomsmen were at the Marriott in Costa Mesa. At one point, as I was driving to the harbor with one of the groomsmen in the car, I had a carload of some of the wedding party following us thinking we knew where we were going. We made a slight unintended detour down at the harbor, but eventually got to the right location with plenty of time to spare. The ordeal was quite comical. The ceremony was literally right at sunset, which made for a perfect setting outside on the yacht’s deck. The reception was filled with high energy; complete with a group of wedding guests doing some cool Polynesian dance moves.
