Max + Samantha ~ Lombardi Ranch
Sometimes Plan B ends being better than Plan A; in this case the latter being Lombardi Ranch and the former being Bouquet Creek. For those of you who don’t know, Lombardi Ranch is the place to be if you’re in the market for a big round pumpkin. With that said, we arrived to a sea of parents and toddlers doing some last minute pumpkin picking. Despite the crowds, Samantha and Max were doing their best to be in the moment and allowing me to capture exactly that.
When we finally had enough of the ranch we drove up the street another 10 or so minutes to a location I had used for a backdrop during many of my college photo shoots. As soon as we stepped out the car I knew immediately that we were going to get some great images. I think Max and Sam felt that too. The light was incredible. The creek is nestled in between two rock faces, with the face farthest away acting as a huge reflector.
During the shoot we considered several times how we should take our shoes and socks off and get in the water. Eventually we decided that wasn’t the best idea as we had nothing to dry off with. But the fact that they were really considering it is admirable. I think their spontaneity will really make for some great wedding photos in another 355 days and counting.
